Arrival: We will meet at La Paloma Airport in Puerto Montt for a quick 45-minute flight to Chaitén. Once you arrive in Chaitén, a shuttle service will take you to the town of Futaleufú; a beautiful and scenic 3-hour journey during which you will begin to experience the majestic Patagonian landscape. Since the arrival time in Futaleufú is usually in the mid-afternoon, you will have the rest of the afternoon free to rest or stroll around the town. In the evening, you will meet with your guide team, who will brief you on the planned itinerary for the next 5 days of pure fun and adventure.

DAY TWO /

A full morning of rafting on the majestic Futaleufú River through the River's most popular section—Bridge to Bridge. This is a half-day activity, so after this, we will take you back to the hotel where you will have time to have lunch and regain energy for the afternoon adventure. We will take you to Piedra de Águila (Eagle's Rock), which is a beautiful trek to one of the most popular peaks near town. Piedra del Águila is an eagle-shaped rock from which you will have stunning views of the Noroeste Valley, one of the most emblematic valleys in Futaleufú. This is a 4 to 5-hour round-trip trek from the town and includes the guide and a snack at the summit.

DAY THREE /

Today we traverse the upper section of the Futaleufú River in our individual inflatable kayaks (duckies). The view is beautiful, and the river is, for the most part, flat, with one long Class II rapid towards the end. About halfway through, we park our duckies and hike to one of the viewpoints in the Futaleufú National Reserve, from where you will have a spectacular view of the El Límite Valley and beyond, as well as the upper section of the Futaleufú River. Includes a delicious snack at the end. In the afternoon: we go canyoning! Are you familiar with it? It's the hybrid of water sports and alpinism: Rappel down waterfalls, jump into pools. A very fun half-day activity.

DAY FIVE /

Espolón River, a tributary of the Futaleufú, Class III (depending on water level). The clear, blue-green Espolón River welcomes us and our individual kayaks (duckies). We paddle a long way in the kayaks, passing through Class 2-3 rapids until the exit, just before the confluence with the Futaleufú River. Great fun! (Note: Clients who prefer not to go in individual kayaks have the option of paddling in a small guided raft). In the afternoon: free time to stroll around town and do some shopping, rent bicycles, or simply relax in the beautiful gardens of your B&B.

DAY SIX /

Full Day Rafting, this is the best day of the week, as we run the best section of the Futaleufú, the Terminator Section all the way to the Macal rapid. This includes the Class V Casa de Piedra (Stone House) rapid. It includes a coffee break halfway through the paddle, lunch, and beers at the end. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a delicious Patagonian barbecue (asado).

DAY SEVEN /

Check out and transfer back to Chaitén to catch the flight to Puerto Montt.
